In our college there is a well equipped physiotherapy out patient department, which posses many units like electrotherapy, electro-diagnosis, exercise therapy, massage therapy, walking school, chest physiotherapy, EMG/EEG biofeedback, laser therapy, multi-gym, ball therapy, manipulation and etc. Now the daily census of the patient is 25 to 35.

In this division mobilizing and range improving exercises are given by the fully sophisticated, furnished exercise therapy department which is equipped with Girth Mayors’ apparatus, Balkan’s frame, Mariner’s wheel, Multiple Exerciser, Dr. Mannel’s apparatus, Forearm mobiliser, Rowing machine, Physio-ball, Quadriceps table, CP standing table, Finger dexterity board, peg board, wobble board, pyramid , shoulder mobiliser, therapeutic mat, Finger ladder, wall bar, Staircase, parallel bar with postural mirror, dumb bells.

“Massage” is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body by a trained therapist as a component of a holistic therapeutic intervention. In this division the body tissues are manipulated scientifically in prescribed method. The students massage the patients under the supervision of the physiotherapist. In a calm and quiet atmosphere, the patients are treated in ventilated rooms with a view of providing them maximum relaxation. This is one of the departments where the patient can get more relaxation and easy recovery after the treatment.

Analysis of patients gait abnormalities and prescribing walking assisting aids, also it re-educates gait and independent walking through various measures. Our college posses all types of walking aids and supportive devices like Crutches, Canes, Wheel Chair, Walker, Frame, Static bi-cycle, Parallel bar with mirror, Ramp, Staircase, Rowing machine, etc.

Disability is evaluated and devices are prescribed according to their disability. Disabled persons get training with the devices to improve their daily functional activities. In this division students learn about types of orthotics and prosthetics and how to measure and fit them to the patients.

Neurological disorders are treated by means of Neuro-Developmental, Sensory integration, balance training, postural corrections and independent functional training approaches by using equipments like RMS EMG – EP Mark II, Nerve conduction velocity studies, evoked potential, Medicare Bio feed back XL12, therapeutic ball, Sensory integration kit, co-ordination table, etc.

Pre and post operative fracture, joint dysfunctions, musculo skeletal disorders, etc are handled by Physiotherapists through manipulatory techniques, electrotherapy modalities and exercise prescriptions.

All types of respiratory disorders, pre and post operative cardiac problems are managed by therapists with proper assessment, diagnosis, evaluation and execution of therapeutic intervention such as Intensive Spiro meter, Spirowin - 99 – PFT, Devilbiss pulmo aide LT Compressor, resuscitator, Ergometer, Peak flow meter, FET, breathing exercise, tread mill and so on.

Sports physiotherapy plays a vital role in fitness, training programme, reconditioning and rehabilitating for athletics as well as very important role in preventing injuries for team players. We have an equipped with Baseline Hydraulic Hand Dynamo meter, Sharp Treadmill Computer, Hero Allegro, Multi Gym, Dumb bells, and fitness mat.
